Mission Statement

Provide gospel-centered support, information, friendship, and fun/educational activities to widowed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Although we are not an official organization of the Church, we recognize we represent the Church by virtue of our organization name and personal covenants made.

We strive to reflect Church standards and the principles of the gospel in a positive light at all times, in word, action and deed.

Widowed friends of other faiths desiring to abide by the same standards are welcome.

W/W Conference Choir

Singing in the choir is a unique opportunity to share one’s heart and testimony in song while getting to know others and forging great friendships. It is a beautiful experience that brings comfort and healing in a unique and powerful way. Anyone attending the conference who is interested in participating in the choir is invited to join!

To participate in the choir follow these three simple steps:

  1. Email your name and the part you prefer to sing (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) to Rebekah Andrus at wwconferencechoir@gmail.com or join the Facebook group “W/W Conference Choir” and respond to the pinned post.
  2. Become familiar with the following three pieces in the LDS Hymnbook and Children’s Songbook: (Hymn 113—Our Savior’s Love, Hymn 193—I Stand All Amazed, and Children’s Songbook 228—My Heavenly Father Loves Me.) Being familiar with these songs will speed your ability to learn the arrangements we will use.
  3. Attend the rehearsal from 7:00–8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 and the warm-up/run through on Friday May 19, 8:30–9:00 a.m.

Printed music will be provided at the Thursday rehearsal.

Service Project

This year we will be doing a service project over the course of the conference. We will be making “happy pillow” kits for children in hospitals. These kits allow children to make a comfort pillow that they can hold and cuddle with while at the hospital. We still need some supplies for the project and would like to have volunteers to bring items and materials. If you are interested and able to bring anything, please contact Linda Drake.
